Professor D Buddhi is also Director, Centre of Excellence- Renewable and Sustainable Energy Studies and a consultant on "Green Power and Energy Efficiency Program" of Asian Development Bank , an alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (Ph. D, 1989) and ex-professor of Renewable Energy & Energy Conservation at School of Energy and Environmental Studies, Devi Ahilya University, Indore, India. He was research leader of Thermal Energy Storage Group and developed vision, identified opportunities in R&D, received grants from government & industry and established recognition at national and international level. He able to conduct 4th Experts Meeting, of Annex 17, "Energy Conservation through Energy Storage", International Energy Agency at Indore and attended the same at Japan and Germany. Dr Buddhi is recipient of national and international Scientist awards. Dr Buddhi has also worked in industry as Director (Technical), Chief Technical Advisor & Head R & D and also transferred the technology. During industry tenure he developed an indigenous Thermal Management Solution for Telecom Shelters and installed more the 30,000 sites worth Indian Rs 5000 million and able to provide energy security and savings on diesel.
Professor Buddhi has also served as Director of Engineering Institutes and Visiting Professor at UPC Barcelona Spain, Mie University Japan, Kun Shan University Tainan, Taiwan & Auckland University New Zealand. He is founder General Secretary of National Institute Industry Forum for Energy, India. Dr Buddhi has international academic and industrial exposure of U.K, Portugal, Germany, Italy, Spain, France, Switzerland, Japan, Korea, New Zealand Taiwan, Sri Lanka and US.
Dr Buddhi was on the Editorial Board of "Energy Conversion and Management", an Elsevier International Journal and regular reviewer of ASME, ASCE & other international journals of repute like Elsevier. He has guided more than 80 M. Tech. (Energy) theses 14 research scholars leading to Ph.D. degree in the field of Thermal Storage, Heat Transfer, Solar Energy, Green Buildings, has published more than a dozen books/proceedings/book chapters and 120 research papers and reviews and few patents to his credit (first patent at Indore University).
Dr Buddhi also has a very high citation of his research publications. As per the report of Government of India, International Comparative Research Base (2009-14) by Department of Science & Technology, Top 10 publications in Energy, Dr Buddhi's paper was ranked number one.
