Mr. Jean Joy, M.Tech in Geoinformatics is an expert in GIS and Remote Sensing. He is a good spatial thinker and love to solve problems through GIS and Remote Sensing technology. He is passionate about his profession and has been fortunate to be a part of many remarkable projects. He loves researching, finding new methods, figuring out obstacles, and answering complex questions. To accomplish a good result, he constantly learns forms network with experts, and quickly adapt to new insights.
He has enjoyed diversified positions in his geospatial career. He started his career in the utility sector. He worked in landscape design and engineering, then inland survey domain and GIS training. All his positions have been challenging and interesting.
He completed his B.tech in Civil Engineering in 2014. After his graduation, He joined for a 6-month course in Geoinformation Science and Technology. His passion for GIS and RS was evoked there and since then, he has contributed to many environmental government projects like Landslide Susceptibility Mapping - Muvattupuzha River Basin,5G Tower Network Planning using GIS, Cheranallur panchayath, Kerala and many more.
His passion had encouraged him to pursue his Master’s in Geoinformatics. He enrolled himself in Suresh Gyan Vihar University in Mtech Geoinformatics. He had his research in “Kerala Flood 2018: Participatory GIS Flood mapping, 3D GIS Flood Visualisation, and Disaster Preparedness Plan”. It was well appreciated and published in a Scopus indexed international journal.
He was fortunate to be a part of several environment management and monitoring projects through his education. Currently, he is pursuing MSc in Energy and Environment Management at Teesside University, United Kingdom. The mantra of his Life is “The Tallest Oak in the forest was once just a little nut that held its ground”.
