Van Hall Larenstein is a sustainable university of applied sciences that conducts high-quality applied research. This research carried out by professors, researchers, lecturers and students is always aimed at improving professional practice. The research generates applied, innovative solutions to issues from (international) business and society that contribute to a more sustainable world.
Following were the points of discussion :
- Description of the proposed course in Land & water management at VHL univ, Netherlands.
- Detailed presentation describing the technicalities, scope, opportunities and innovations in land & water management.
- Motivation and guidance session for the interested students of 1st and 3rd semester, Civil Engg on the 1st of Dec.
- A competence based learning workshop was conducted by VHL officials on 2nd Dec, in which 10 students attended along with all faculty members of Civil department. Groups were formed and a brainstorming exercise was conducted on remediation of drought conditions.
- Feasibility of the 2+2 module for cohorts, 2016-17 and 2017-18. VI. Discussion for formulating a way forward towards merging of syllabus and course matter for a successful dual degree for students
- Mapping of common subjects and delineating discrepancies in the courses.
- Working out a way to bridge the course gap between Civil engg and LWM in a capsule course of 8 months.
- In house staff (3 nos) training at Baramati University, Maharastra for the preparatory course to held for interested students.
- Discussions on designing the preparatory assignments and importance of a good self portrait keeping in mind competence based learning for LWM course in the Netherlands.
- Exhaustive discussions on restructuring the syllabi for 2+2 module inclusive of components central to both Civil engineering and Land & water management studies. >
- A comprehensive plan for future course amalgamation and research collaboration was formulated.
- Exchange of work emails and formation of a watsapp group marking the beginning of collective efforts towards making this initiative successful for SGVU and fruitful for its present students and to be enrolled in future.
