The build up area of the house of wisdom which is another name for SGVU’s prestigious library is 1.5 Lac. Sq. Feet and has separate dedicated floors for all the varieties of enormous reading resources the library houses. The students are also provided with a separate research library having academic and non-academic classified resources including periodicals, journals and books written in braille. The library is doing a commendable job by providing an yearly book bank to scholars hailing from economically weaker sections. Apart from the tremendous quantity of physical books, there is also an appreciable amount of information in the e-print form provided via the National Knowledge Network that the students can access remotely through the phone and web, all of which is free for the registered students and can be provided to any other scholar through the public library on nominal charges.Voracious readers are made part of various programmes like National Knowledge Network as mentioned earlier ,”Abhivyakti”, e-gyankosh, current awareness service. In addition to above facilities the university has also subscribed to various e-resources like ProQuest, DELNET, INFLIBNET(Information and Library Network), UGC MOOC which has been an immense help for the students in gaining access to expansive number of top-notch course materials, reference and other e-books.
