HOW WAS GYAN VIHAR ABLE TO ACHIEVE THE NAAC "A" GRADE?
Gyan Vihar has been part of one of the oldest education institutions in the state established in 1938. By the year 1985, the organization owned several governments funded schools for students from the underprivileged communities. In the year 2000, Gyan Vihar School of Engineering was established. Gyan Vihar has led the technical education sector in North India since 1999. It was awarded the University status by the Government of Rajasthan, one of the first few state private universities.
NAAC evaluates institutes on the basis of broad spectrum of assessments. Gyan Vihar believes in ethics in innovation and we are proud of our quality in delivery. Gyan Vihar has excelled at all the NAAC criteria:
The project-based learning will begin right from the first year of the degree with a course in broad areas to broaden the perspective. In the second year, every student is to propose an innovative idea of research for the degree on which they would present the paper in that year. The following two years are aimed at developing the idea into a functioning project. The project will be presented at the IBM “Technical Hackathon” where experienced people from the industry will be invited for feedbacks. This project-based learning platform will provide an all-round immersive industry and hands-on learning experience.
The Jaipur based University has collaborated with IBM, Google, Amazon and Bosch to develop collaborative programs. IBM launched for the first time in Rajasthan specialized B.Tech programs in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, digital analytics, cloud computing and virtualization in computer science and industrial internet-of-things and smart cities in electrical engineering. All deserving graduates will be awarded “IBM graduate digital badge” along with an IBM certificate. With the aim of developing its future human resource, Google associated with Gyan Vihar to launch a B.Tech focused on android technology. Similarly, Amazon has launched M.Tech program in amazon web services (AWS) to prepare for the upcoming cloud computing market. Bosch has established the first automation research lab in India at the institution.
The University is one of the only few in the country focused on research and development. It has collaborated with Universities all across the world to bring wide perspectives and experience as well the industries for academic consultancies. It has founded 9 different centers of research focused on varying from areas from agriculture, climate change, sustainable energy, hydroponics and industry labs as Google android center, Amazon security and Bosch automation lab. The centers have 400 researchers and professors involved in finding innovative solutions to various problems.
Suresh Gyan Vihar University became the first state private University in Rajasthan to be awarded the much-coveted grade ‘A’ by NAAC council of Ministry of Human Resource Development in 2017. While Rajasthan is a popular destination for students all across India for higher education studies with around 50 universities, most government universities struggle to achieve the status and private universities stuck behind. Gyan Vihar has led the force of change in the state.
In recent Transparent Ranking released by Spain’s respected research council, Spanish National Research Academy (CSIS), has put SGVU on the 25th spot in India based on its research prowess. CSIS objectively ranks institutions worldwide based on the Google Scholar Citation Index of the researchers based at the institutions. Every citation on a research paper published by professors, researchers and students at the institution is converted into a point and scaled. This gives an objective tally of overall research outcome by each University which can also be translated into University’s all-round research impact. With 71734 points Gyan Vihar ranks at 25th in the country and first in the state of Rajasthan. Followed by BITS Pilani at 26th and MNIT, Jaipur at 27th with 65533 and 64200 points. Various prestigious institutions like IIT’s, IISER’s, IISc and AIIMS, Delhi feature at important places in the list. Gyan Vihar gives credit to industrial connect, advanced research infrastructure, diligent research students and experiences professors. The achievement has given an impetus for us to a better performance and deliverance in the future.
