Suresh Gyan Vihar University celebrated Hindi Diwas on 14th September 2024 with great enthusiasm, reaffirming its commitment to preserving and promoting Hindi as a symbol of India’s rich cultural heritage. The event brought together students, faculty, and dignitaries to honor the significance of our national language.
The objective of this celebration was to highlight the historical and cultural importance of Hindi, encouraging students to embrace and take pride in their linguistic heritage. By commemorating the adoption of Hindi as India's official language, the event aimed to foster a deeper appreciation and commitment to its usage and promotion.
The program commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. Richa Sharma, who emphasized that Hindi is more than just a language—it is a reflection of India's unity and identity. The session also highlighted the contributions of literary stalwarts such as Maithilisharan Gupt, Hazari Prasad Dwivedi, and Seth Govind Das, who played a crucial role in promoting Hindi.
A key highlight of the event was an engaging dictation competition led by Registrar Mr. Madusudan Sharma. Faculty members took on the challenge of writing 25 complex Hindi words, testing their proficiency in spelling and diacritical marks. This interactive activity encouraged participants to enhance their command of the language. The winners of this competition will be honored during the upcoming NSS Orientation Day, adding to the excitement and motivation of the participants.
The event concluded on a patriotic note, with attendees expressing their pride for Hindi and joining together in the National Anthem. Through this celebration, SGVU reinforced its dedication to preserving the legacy of Hindi, inspiring students to uphold and cherish their linguistic roots.
