Students of Suresh Gyan Vihar University walked the ramp with great elan and turn showstoppers in the fashion show organized at the Handloom Expo on 28th February 2021 under the supervision of Ms. Ruchi Dave ma’am. Not just they walked the ramp with great confidence and did good justice to the clothes they were wearing and the president awarded designers work.
The 15-day handloom expo was organised by the industries department at Jaipur Haat, near Water Palace, Jaipur. India’s textiles, fabrics, prints, handlooms, and materials are world-famous, and the expo saw the participation of the handloom units from various parts of the country along with India’s top traditional designers. The beautiful Bagru prints, Sanganeri prints, Ikat prints, the famous indigo print sarees were showcased in the special ramp walk by our Suresh Gyan Vihar University students.
The beautify of hand-printed sarees, the light fabrics, and natural dyes were simply mesmerizing. The process of making the traditional Rajasthani prints is age-old and requires many days of work, until a piece of work, or shall we say a few meters of fabric is ready. There was also a display of the techniques and materials used in the making of these traditional fabrics, sarees, and suits. All in all, SGVU students had a great time being part of the superb Expo which showcased the Rajasthani culture at its finest.
