The Suresh Gyan Vihar University (SGVU) Research Department successfully hosted a week-long Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on "Research Methodology Using SPSS" from December 31, 2022, to January 6, 2023.
This comprehensive FDP benefited 340 faculty members and research scholars from SGVU and various other universities and colleges. The program provided an in-depth overview of several parametric and non-parametric data analysis approaches used in the social sciences, natural sciences, and business fields through the effective application of SPSS.
Participants received hands-on instruction throughout the lectures, conducted by the program's resource person, Dr. Manvinder Singh Pahwa, Professor and Dean of the School of Business at The Assam Kaziranga University, Jorhat, Assam. Dr. Pahwa's expertise and practical teaching methods ensured that attendees could directly apply the concepts learned during the sessions to their research endeavors. His instruction covered a broad range of statistical techniques, equipping participants with the necessary skills to analyze and interpret complex data sets accurately. On the closing day of the program, the University's Honorable President, Dr. Arunansu Haldar, addressed the participants. He emphasized the importance of utilizing SPSS for conducting high-quality research and encouraged everyone to continue applying these methodologies in their respective fields. Dr. Haldar's motivational speech underscored the university's commitment to fostering a robust research culture. The positive feedback from participants highlighted the FDP's success.
