With the motto of Fresher’s today, leaders tomorrow, the fresher’s orientation program for 1st year students was scheduled from 1st - 10th October 2021 at the NIIRF ranked and NAAC ‘A’ accredited Suresh Gyan Vihar University, Jaipur.
The first day of the Fresher’s Orientation Program 2021 was absolutely a power-packed day! There was so much new energy, enthusiasm, laughter, and vibrancy on the day. The day started with the auspicious lamp lighting by Hon'ble President SGVU, Prof. (Dr) Ritu Gilhotra, and all esteemed Dean/Principals of respective 10 schools. A condensed introduction of the University was given by President ma'am followed by the facilitation of all Deans and Principals.
The inaugural welcome speech was addressed by Hon'ble President SGVU, Prof. (Dr) Ritu Gilhotra that helped all freshers feel at ease and know that they are in the best learning environment and individual transformation. After fun ice-breaking sessions, there were non-stop brilliant performances that included group and solo dance performances, singing, fashion show, skits, and much more. The day also saw a special performance by Yusuf Khan a known Bhapang artist, a fashion show by experienced models, and Rahul's band performance.
Day 2 of the Fresher's Orientation Program coincided with the birth anniversary of Gandhi ji. The University decided to celebrate it as "Swachhta Diwas". A Swachhta workshop was organized and a brief program was kept where scholars and freshers were told of the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi ji and his 'inclusive' way of life. A yoga session was kept for the students as well and they played many sports activities. The day saw freshers' registration in various SGVU student communities.
Next 4 days, students heard highly expert SGVU faculty share insights on various important topics like ‘Systematic goal setting to achieve your goals effectively’, ‘Managing emotions’, ‘Successful career planning’, ‘Transformation through university life, ‘You as a brand’, ‘Coping skills for different addictions’, ‘Career decision-insight to impact’, ‘Measure your life balance’, and ’ Professional and personal success’ and many more. There were a various array of activities scheduled during the days like management games, recreational activities, personality development sessions, Club/Collegiate Registrations and induction program, and Mental Health Camp among the few.
Post successful completion of the orientation program, it was time for the matriculation ceremony for them on 8th October 2021 with which they officially became part of the SGVU family. The last was one of the most awaited ‘SGVU 10th Convocation Ceremony 2021’ that was held on 9th October 2021. Gold Medals and Degrees were conferred upon Ph.D. Scholars and Students of Schools of Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, BioSciences, Hotel Management, Education, Social Sciences & Humanities.
Chief Guest of the Ceremony was Hon’ble Chairperson Sh. Sunil Sharma, Hon’ble Chief Mentor Dr. Sudhanshu presided over the Ceremony, and Hon’ble Registrar Sh. Madhusudhan Sharma was the Master of Ceremony. The Ceremony was attended by Staff members and present Students of SGVU and the recipients of the Gold Medal & Ph.D. Degree holders were cheered enthusiastically by all present.
