Department of Pharmacology:

The basic knowledge of drug action is provided in this lab by various modern instruments like Pole climbing apparatus, Analgesiometer, Convulsometer, Eddy’s hot plate, Organ bath for isolated tissues. A highly sophisticated animal house which provides healthy animals like Rabbit, Albino Rat, Guinea Pig, Frog etc are associated with the lab. Intact animals & isolated tissues of these animals are used to carry out the different pharmacological actions of old & new medicinal agents. Various software programmes are also available to demonstrate pharmacological action of various drugs. The pharmacological activities of newly synthesized drugs are tested here. A highly sophisticated animal house will supply the animals for this laboratory. Separate arrangements are made to breathe these animals (The animals include rabbits, mice, rats, guinea pigs, frogs etc which are legally allowed for doing experiments by the Government of India).
