Bsc Geography

The key focus of Centre for Climate Change and Water Research (C3WR) is imparting the quality education and research in earth resource system. The most important component of the Earth’s system is climate which requires the understanding of atmosphere, ocean and land system and their interaction with human beings. Our future development is limited and constrained by the growing population, the depletion of natural resources and global climate change. Bsc geography in Jaipur is an undergraduate Geography course. Geography is the science that deals with the study of the Earth and its lands, features, inhabitants, and phenomena. A literal translation would be “to describe or write about the earth”. Four historical traditions in geographical research are the spatial analysis of natural and human phenomena (geography as a study of distribution), area studies (places and regions), study of man-land relationship, and research in earth sciences. Geographers use GIS to find relationships and trends in geographic data. GIS allow geographers to present data visually as maps, reports, and charts. For example in geography courses geographers can overlay aerial or satellite images with GIS data, such as population density in a given region, and create computerized maps. They then use the results to advise governments, businesses, and the general public on a variety of issues, such as marketing strategies; planning homes, roads, and landfills; or disaster responses.
