The Office of International Relations is the nodal point for admission into Suresh Gyan Vihar University for international students. Students from foreign countries will generally be admitted in the beginning of each academic year.
Admissions are based purely on the candidate's performance in the 10 + 2 or equivalent examination, graduation for PG courses and satisfying the guidelines of respective councils governing the Engineering, Pharmacy, Hotel Management, Business Management, Bio-Sciences,Agriculture Science and Education. The admission procedure, application form and fees are different from domestic students applying under Indian category. International students are exempted from taking the SGVU Entrance Examination.
Categories of International Students
Students holding passport issued by foreign countries including people of Indian origin who have acquired the nationality of foreign countries.
Non Resident Indians (NRI):
Non Resident Indian students who have studied and passed the qualifying examinations (11th and 12th) from schools or colleges situated in foreign countries (even if affiliated to the Boards of Secondary Education or Universities located in India). Dependants of NRI's studying in India will not be included as NRI students.
NRI Sponsored Students:
A resident Indian student whose direct blood relative (parents, grandparents, direct brother or sister of parents or the candidate) committing to sponsor, has an NRI status. Once the student is admitted under this category no change in status during the study period even if the status of the sponsor changes.
Who Can Apply?
Foreign nationals, PIO card holders, OCI (Dual citizens), NRI students, and NRI sponsored students can apply under the category of International students. PIO and OCI card holders will only be considered equivalent to NRI students as far as education is concerned.
Foreign nationals, PIO card holders, OCI (Dual citizens) and NRI students get preference over NRI sponsored students.
Candidates can apply for any of the programs offered by Suresh Gyan Vihar University:
Apply online: Using credit or debit card, paying the fee of USD 100 or equivalent INR. Students need to scan their documents and mail to international@mygyanvihar.
The application Fee is non-refundable.
Fill up the application carefully without missing any detail. If the marks are not known or not available at the time of filling the application, please indicate "Results are awaited" in the marks/grade column. Candidates whose results are generally released not before June may send the forecast / predicted / term results duly endorsed by the head of their school. The candidate is expected to send the marks to the university as soon as they are available to ascertain the eligibility. It is to be noted that the application will be considered only if the marks are made available to the university within the stipulated date. If the mark sheets of the qualifying examination are not submitted within the stipulated date, Suresh Gyan Vihar University cannot be held responsible for the lost opportunity to study or future career.
10th and 12th/ Bachelor/ Masters Degree certificate along with marks sheet/ transcript. Both front and back sides of the mark sheet are to be scanned and sent in order to get additional information about the grade equivalence, passing requirements etc. If the content in the mark sheet is not in English, then the certified English translated version must also be submitted in addition to native language certificate. In case the results have not been released, then the predicted marks/grades or the term result of the qualifying examination must be submitted.

Students need to submit hard copy of their original documents along with admission letter when they report at the university.
On receipt of the completed application along with the prescribed application fee, an application number will be allotted and emailed to the applicant.
Based on the predicted scores/ term result/ final scores, if the eligibility requirements for the program applied for have been found to be satisfied, then the provisional admission letter will be emailed with details of tuition fee and other fees payable. This provisional admission letter is not valid for visa purposes.
It is very important that the students who have submitted the predicted / forecasted/ term results must submit the actual marks / grade sheet of the qualifying examination as soon as it is available and have to meet the eligibility requirements for the program.
The tuition, hostel/ accommodation, registration fee, examination fee and other applicable fees must be paid in US Dollars when student will reports at the university.
Once the (a) full annual tuition fees (b) registration fees and (c) examination fees, for the first year, are received and credited into our account, and on submission of final mark sheets and all other mandatory documents, the letter of confirmed admission will be sent by email. Please note that the fee has to be paid within the stipulated date and the admission will be confirmed on "Merit-cum-First Come First serve" basis. Failure to pay the full tuition fees will automatically deprive the applicant of the admission opportunity and the university reserves the right to admit other eligible applicants without further notice. Suresh Gyan Vihar University cannot be held responsible for any lost opportunities or loss/damages arising thereof. The confirmed admission letter may be used by foreign students to apply for student visa, ticketing, insurance and others.
Pre-enrolment is the process of verifying the original certificates and obtaining declarations from the parents/student, on arrival to the campus. The university will send a separate communication detailing the procedure for pre-enrollment, commencement of classes and other information necessary for completing the admission formalities. The candidates are advised to look at the website for the actual date of commencement of first year classes.
It is advisable for the students to reach SGVU 7 days before the commencement of classes. In order to complete the registration process, the students have to report to the office of the Dy. Registrar,International Admissions, for the completion of admission/Foreigner's Regional Registration Office(FRRO) formalities.
Following original documents are to be submitted:
Degree or Pass certificate of the qualifying examination
Grade/mark sheet of the qualifying examination
Translated versions of all documents, if they are not in English
Copy of Passport with a valid student visa (Original will be returned after verification)
Equivalence certificate from Association of Indian Universities(AIU), wherever applicable
Migration Certificate (If applicable)
Duly filled and signed Declaration Forms- Parent (Annexure 1), Student (Annexure 2)
Recent Passport-size photographs- 5 Nos.
Reference of two persons who know you with Name, Occupation, Complete Address, Contact Number and E-mail ID
Within 10 days of joining SGVU, students are required to have a medical fitness examination as laid down by the Govt. of India. All international students have to undergo a mandatory medical certification in order to test them for certain diseases/infections germs like HIV/ Hepatitis surface Antigen (HBsAg)/Australia Antigen, If any such result is found positive, the admission will stay cancelled.
The students from the African continent have to submit a certificate of vaccination for yellow fever.
It is a part of the normal mandatory process that within the stipulated time frame of arrival in India, the student has to register his/ her name with the police in the Foreigner's Registration Office (FRO) / Foreigner's Regional Registration Office (FRRO). The time frame may vary from 24 hours to 14 days of arrival depending on the country of origin. A student with a PIO card also must register at the FRRO. Only OCI card holders need not register. Suresh Gyan Vihar University would only provide necessary assistance in this regard. The applicable immigration processing fees and other related expenses have to be additionally borne by the student.
For security registration no fee is charged. However US $ 30 is charged by the Government for delay in registration or over stay as declared by the authority concerned.
For registration one need to contact in the offices of FRRO/CHIO or the Police Superintendents. At airport no such facilities are provided.
No change of program is allowed after the confirmed admission letter has been issued.
The entire examination process including grading system and the degrees awarded will be same for both Indian students as well as international students.
