About the College
Gyan
Vihar school of Education has been established to meet
the demand of high caliber, English speaking, technology
savvy teachers, urgently required by the large number of
International and other Residential schools coming up in
India. It will also meet the demand for Indian teachers
in foreign countries, particularly the Middle and Far
East, the U.S.A. and now even the U.K. and other
European Countries.
Approval and Affiliation
Gyan
Vihar School of Education has been issued N.O.C. by the
Govt. of Rajasthan and has received approval of the
N.C.T.E. for conducting B.Ed Course. The school is
affiliated to Rajasthan University. The first batch of
B.Ed will be taking the university examinations in
May/June, 2008.
Admission to B.Ed-2009-10
Admission for the academic session 2008-09 will be made
for the P.T.E.T qualified candidates through centralized
counseling that will be conducted by Jai Narain Vyas
University, Jodhpur in July 2008. We have 100 seats.
Curriculum: The Curriculum has been especially
designed to keep the needs of modern day school
education. Staff skill development has been made an
integral part of the curriculum transaction process.
The
four compulsory papers are:
(i)
Education and Emerging Indian Society.
(ii)
Psycho – Social Basis of learning and Teaching.
(iii)
Educational Management and school organization.
(iv)
Educational Technology and class-room Management.
The
teaching subjects offered are:-
(i)
Languages: Hindi, English,
(ii)
Science: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics &
General Science
(iii)
Humanities: Economics, Civics, History and Social
Studies
Of
these, a student has to select two which he/she has
studied for at least two years at graduation level.
Besides, the above, a student has to compulsorily
qualify in Computer Literacy and its Educational
Applications.
Further
a student may opt for any one of the special papers:
(i)
Environmental Education.
(ii)
Population Education.
(iii)
Physical Education.
(iv)
School Library.
(v)
Educational and Vocational Guidance.
(vi)
Measurement & Evaluation.
(vii)
Elementary Education.
M.Ed and Ph.D in Education:
We
shall be starting M.Ed classes from the ensuing academic
session (2009-10) wherein we will be offering the
following subjects:-
(A)
Compulsory Papers: -
(i)
Philosophical and Sociological foundations of Education
(ii)
Methodology of Educational Research.
(iii)
Psychological foundations of Teaching and Learning.
(B)
Optional Papers:-
(i)
Advanced Psychology
(ii)
Educational Management, Planning and Finance
(iii)
Comparative Education
(iv)
Curriculum Development, Implementation, Evaluation
Change and Text Books
(v)
Foundation of Teacher Education
(vi)
Guidance and Counseling
(vii)
Educational Technology
(viii)Educational Measurement & Evaluation.
Besides, the 3 compulsory and two optional papers, each
student will be required to do a dissertation and submit
a report on it. We are also planning to start a Research
wing for the students aspiring for the award of a Ph.d
degree.
The
school has a very well stocked library. The laboratories
– Science, Computer, Psychology and Educational
Technology, have been provided with the latest
equipment.
The
faculty is highly qualified and known for their
contribution to the Indian School Education. |
