It offers employment to millions of people world wide ranging from budget, to heritage to luxury hotels. To cater to the burgeoning requirement of the hospitality industry for trained professionals, we provide quality education along with practical hands on training which enables our students to get absorbed easily in the industry. And to ensure that our students are amongst the very best we at Gyan Vihar have provided the kitchens with the best and the most modern equipments; There is a Basic Training Kitchen, a Quantity Food Kitchen and an Advanced Training Kitchen. There is a very well laid out 48 cover restaurant so equipped to impart practical training in Restaurant Service and Bar Operations. A House Keeping section, that has the best training equipment and gadgets. A highly sophisticated Bakery and Front Office lab.

FOOD PRODUCTION LAB:
Major aspect of the hotel industry is Food, as it is the true reflection of hospitality. Food production labs are well equipped and designed to put in good and advanced training to students making them efficient food makers of the industry.

BASIC TRAINING KITCHEN:

In the first year the students are trained in Basic of Practical Cookery; Specially Mother Sauces, Stocks and Soups, Commodities of Basic Cooking, Fruits and Vegetables, Methods of cooking etc. Indian and Continental Cuisines are also emphasized in the first year training.

QUANTITY FOOD KITCHEN (QFK):

This lab is oriented to sow seeds of Indian regional cuisines, Bulk cooking and catering.

ADVANCED TRAINING KITCHEN:

Hotel Industry caters the people throughout the world, so in advanced training kitchen students are imparted practical knowledge of Global cuisine, making them masters of culinary.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE SERVICE:

Restaurants are the key to hotel industry. A good restaurant attracts its major client only if the sitting arrangements are magnificently premeditated. A 48 cover restaurant is equipped particularly to impart the practical knowledge of restaurant Service and Bar Operation which is a must for any person receiving the technical knowledge of this industry.

ACCOMMODATION OPERATION:

One of the other major areas in a hotel is the Accommodation operation, as it is basically the lodging and housing that one looks for away from home. It contains training of fully automated laundry & guestroom. In depth study of interior decoration of the guest room is also a part of Accommodation Operation.

BAKERY & CONFECTIONARY:

Highly sophisticated equipments are installed to provide training of basic bakery products such as sponges, tarts, bread, pastry, creams etc.

FRONT OFFICE:
Front office is the main reception area & the students are trained to deal with the various operations of the same. The proper courtesy and etiquettes are the most for the front office people along with the knowledge of various major spoken languages and customs throughout the world.

COMPUTER TRAINING:

Computer knowledge is important in all spheres of life. Keeping this in view basic computer training is also provided to the budding hoteliers to keep them update the latest technology. The computer lab is well equipped with PCs with built-in Pentium IV processors. The students are also provided with Internet Access with help of RF Link connectivity.

The curriculum is so designed that that the student graduates from the school well versed in the legal as well as the ethical aspects of the world of medicine.

They develop counseling skills which can prove a most effective tool in the use of medication. They acquire the wherewithal that enable them to operate equally effectively in community, hospital and industrial pharmacy in India and throughout the world.

School of Engineering & Technology

An Engineering professional has to meet many challenges in the field. The main objective of any engineering college is to inculcate the capacity in their students, to meet these challenges which include the capacity to face tough examinations, garner hands-on experience on machines and equipments, and the capability to work long hours; but above all he should also develop into a good human being. Gyan Vihar School of Engineering and Technology with an undergraduate student strength of about 1700 and 120 faculty members, has always strived to provide an ideal platform to develop these very capabilities.

We, have introduced pioneer procedure of continuous Evaluation System-MT to prepare the students for examination, assignments and tutorials to work hard on academics, a Centre for Career Building and Leadership development to develop his personality, Laboratory classes for hands on experience on machines and equipments, student seminars for improving the presentation skills, students projects to enhance creativity amongst the students.

The above activities would not be possible were it not for a faculty with a solid combination of great long-term experienced teachers and energetic new young members. Wire less technology enables our students to have free access to the internet; this is enhanced by a full fledged internet lab and faculty resource room.

A research oriented syllabi ensures that our graduates can continue research in their field of choosing. The University also offers global certification through tie ups with companies like Microsoft, IBM, Cisco, Red Hat and V Cad to increase the employability and market acceptance of our students. Visiting global faculties and educators from the premier institutes of the country provide a transnational dimension to the curriculum.

The Seminar Hall is equipped with advanced media equipment and communication lab with facility to improve the oral communication skills in English. During the stressful working days, students need to be given a foster parental guidance away from home in the School . The School has a tutor guardian scheme. The focus of this activity is to keep track on individual student and counsel them by the tutor guardian. The tutor guardians are faculty members.
